The 'Muhtarlar Academy' is being established in Burdur: The era of academic support for local governments is beginning

Under the leadership of the Burdur Governorship, a cooperation protocol was signed between Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ), the Burdur Central Neighborhood Muhtars Association, and the Burdur Central Village Muhtars Association.

The protocol signed at the ceremony held at Lavanta Tepesi Hotel aims to produce solutions to the problems faced by muhtars in social, legal, psychological, health, and administrative issues from an academic perspective.

The 'Muhtarlar Academy' will support muhtars in increasing the quality of their services, enabling them to provide faster, more accurate, and qualified services to citizens. Within the scope of the program, various trainings will be provided to muhtars by expert academics in their fields, aiming to establish a knowledge-based approach in local governments.

Officials from the Burdur Governorship and MAKÜ emphasized that the project will strengthen democratic participation in local governments and establish a more solid foundation for muhtar-citizen-state communication.

With this initiative, Burdur has taken an important step towards becoming one of the pioneering provinces in Turkey that provides academic support to the institution of muhtarlık.
